At a point when his girlfriend of one year, Christina Milian just dumped him and he's been fined $2 million in back debt on his private jet, Lil Wayne finds some comfort in reminiscing on his first encounter with hip hop don, Jay Z.

During a recent interview with ESPN's Cari Champion's podcast, 'Be Honest', the 'Mirrors' rapper admitted Jay Z's voice on his phone for the very first time is an experience he will never forget.

"I remember receiving a text notifying me Jay would call me," Wayne explained. "It’s crazy how something like that, something so specific could make you feel solidified… That phone call right there was serious for me. I remember exactly where I was. I remember telling everybody in the garage to shut up. He didn’t really say much, but 'what’s up little homie. I see you.'"

Wayne also admitted he is a proud New Orleans native who's a huge east coast fan, to the dismay of ex-partner, Birdman, and has an annual Lil Weezyana Fest which helps raise funds for different things like victims of the Hurricane Katrina via music.

"I brought out every era of New Orleans music, up until me and my music, and it was crazy for me to be able to be the last man standing,”  Wayne said.
