Fashion guru Tim Gunn slams couple as "vulgar" and "basic"

In his latest interview with HuffPost Live, the 'Runway Project' coach slammed the reality TV family calling them "vulgar"  and referring to Kanye West as "basic".

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian

Tim Gunn is certainly one of those not impressed by the flashy lifestyle of the Kardashians and the fashion statements by Kanye West.

In his latest interview with HuffPost Live, the fashion guru slammed the reality TV family calling them "vulgar"  and referring to Kanye as "basic".

"I think they’re a bunch of dumb clothes. Just basic pieces… He won’t [like that comment], but let me tell you, the whole Kardashian clan doesn’t like me, so no surprise there," Gunn shared his opinion about the rapper's latest fashion collection

As for why the Kardashians don't like him, the 'Project Runway' coach explained that, "There are large issues [with the Kardashians] for me, such as why? Why! But when it comes to fashion I say to people all the time, if you want guidance in fashion, just consider this: if a Kardashian is wearing it, don’t… I think it’s vulgar… Given the amount of public exposure that the Kardashians have to potentially be sending the message to people that you too can dress like this, no!"

And when the topic of Kendall as an "IT" model came up, he said, "I think absolutely nothing [of her] to be perfectly honest. And I’m assuming there’s a huge, perhaps million dollars a month, publicity wagon that is pulling these girls along and creating these lives for them. I’m distrustful of it and I find it all distasteful. [But] I shouldn’t say that she doesn’t [have ‘it’]. I don’t know her — she may be a perfectly lovely young woman. I just feel that she’s tainted by the Kardashian aura of yuck!"

Back in June, Gunn slammed Kim's seflie book - SELFISH - telling US Weekly: "To all the young people out there in particular: Banish this... This is disgusting and vile... I feel my IQ is plummeting."
