''My number one priority is my son''

The Destiny's Child star assures People magazine that music and everything else comes behind her son and husband.

Kelly Rowland joins 'Empire' cast

If you think Kelly Rowland will choose her music career over motherhood, then think again.

At her Samsung Galaxy Experience talk at the Essence Festival in New Orleans on Saturday, July 4, the singer who welcomed son, Titan, in November with husband, Tim Weatherspoon said:

''You make time for the things you want to make time for. I know  Tim and Titan are the No. 1 priority, then it’s music, and after that is everything else. My son and my husband are the greatest things that happened to me.''

Sharing how sweet it is being a mother, Kelly said: ''The other day, he [Titan] takes my face and gives me a very drooly, open-mouth kiss... Drool is just running in my mouth, but it’s the sweetest thing ever because he loves his mama, and I love him back so much.''

The former Destiny’s Child star, 34, added that finding the healthiest work-life balance is a gradual process: ''It’s a lot... '', she said, ''You get different advice from people, but I’m learning as I go.''

Rowland is currently working on her new BET reality series Chasing Destiny in which she’ll assemble what she hopes will be the next smash girl group.

It is due later this year.
