Katy Perry is currently locked in a legal battle with two nuns over the sale of a former convent situated in California, Los Angeles.

According to reports, the nuns, 86-years old Sister Catherine Rose and 77-years old Sister Rita Callanan claim to have authority over the archdiocese in the sale of the property and also voiced their concerns about Perry’s character.

The sprawling convent which is situated on an eight acre compound has been vacant since 2011 and was sold to the singer by Los Angeles Archbishop Jose Gomez for $14.5 million.

However, before Perry is handed the keys to the property, she has to contend with the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary- Rose and Callanan, who aren’t pleased with her character and one of her videos.

‘I was particularly concerned about the video,’ Callanan told NBC’s “Today” show on Monday, June 29, 2015.

There reports that there is conflict as to who owns the estate and who has the right to sell it: the local archbishop or a group of the nuns who are anti-Perry.

According to the archdiocese, Perry bought the property from Archbishop Gomez with plans for a new site for the House of Prayer to be owned by the sisters valued at $4.5 million.

There are talks that Perry also has plans to use the property to care for her mother and grandmother.
