Joan Rivers' daughter tipped as next host

Melissa is reportedly excited to take on the role as a tribute to her late mother's legacy

After the exit of and former host, Kathy Griffin, E!'s Fashion Police has been surviving by the thread but it looks like things are about to get stable once again for the show after rumors spread that Joan Rivers' daughter, Melissa Rivers could be the perfect host.

It's a fact that nobody could ever replace the talented Joan on the show but as a tribute to her mom, Melissa will take over as panel moderator alongside Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski  when they return on August 31.

An insider tells Confidenti@l, ''Melissa's going on. She's so happy, she's excited. The idea actually came from her. The bosses like it. It’ll be a tribute to her mom, and Melissa’s the one who understands how it’s done. She can pull it off.''

Reports say Melissa has already signed on for six shows but it is not clear when those shows will air.

As for the other hosts for this upcoming season, there will reportedly be a rotating crew of celebrities from L.A. and New York.

''They will rotate celebs every episode,'' the source said. ''They are talking to Wendy Williams and they really want her. Melissa loves her and Wendy is very interested.''
