Dede Mabiaku says NDLEA men injected late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti with poisonous substance 22 years ago [Video]

Dede Mabiaku thinks the NDLEA has questions to answer over the death of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

Dede Mabiaku, one of the close friends of late music legend, Fela Anikpula-Kuti says he was injected with a poisonous substance that contributed to his death. [NigeriaMonitor]

The music star made this known during an interview with Object TV. According to him, Fela confided in him and his son Seun after the incident. For Dede, he has been holding back for over 22 years from revealing what happened and has decided to open up about Fela's ordeal.

"Seun nor forget this thing wen me I wan talk today because e don tey when i wan talk am. I don wait, tire people, don talk this thing because I remember clearly when Fela call me tell me tell Seun say 'ah them choke me something o...be like say them choke me something here.' That matter nobody talk the matter since. I dey wait for so many years, its been 22 years now, nobody talk this matter.

"So when me I come hear say them choke Sowore something, I don't know. But me I know say Fela tell me sha and he tell Seun and this one na true talk. Later we started seeing the degenerating state of his health, we started seeing the level at which things dropped and we all know how it ended...when they force him to that place wen Bamaiyi dey...NDLEA. Na for there them choke baba," he said.

Dede Mabiaku was speaking while reacting to the arrest and detention of politician turned activist, Omoyele Sowore. According to him, he heard Sowore had been injected with a substance while in the custody of the department of state security.

It is no news that Dede Mabiaku is a known huge fan and ambassador to the Fela movement. A few months ago, he went hard on those who were comparing the late music icon to Naira Marley.

Dede Mabiaku's slams those comparing Naira Marley to Fela...

The veteran singer made this known during an interview with Object TV. An obviously irritated Dede shared his frustration at the comparison between Fela who was the voice for the people and Naira Marley who has been accused of getting his hands stained with fraud.

"I heard a lot of people comparing that young man to Abami Eda Anikulapo Kuti. Why are you trivializing the essence of your matters? Why are you bringing down Fela Anikulapo Kuti? Why are you rubbishing hi in this corridor of nothingness that is not supposed to be an issue? The boy, was he right in doing what he did? Ask yourselves. Somebody wen dey edutain, because, in everything he did, his tortures were based on wanting to enlighten the people, wake up the minds of the people for the development of the society, with regards for our culture and traditions...read complete story.

He went on to advise colleagues of Naira Marley to stop giving him the moral boost that he is the next Fela because he went to jail. He also slammed the latest move 'Soapy' (Initiated by Naira Marley's latest song) which according to him is totally wrong.
