Ciara made sure the name Future never came out of her mouth while reading the nominees for the 2016 Billboard Music Awards on 'Good Morning America' with rapper Ludacris on Monday, April 11.
The 'Never Ever' singer refused to read out her ex-fiance, Future's name as she announced the nominees for the Best Rap Artist category on live television. CiCi started calling the names of Drake, then Fetty Wap before going uncomfortably silent on the next name - which Ludacris finally called out - Future! She however completed the list with Wiz Khalifa and ended with Silento.
The rap star, who is the father of her son Future Jr. was engaged to the singer in October 2013, but she reportedly called off the engagement in August the following year. But things have remained messy between the pair.
As we previously reported in March, Ciara filed a $15 million lawsuit against the rapper for libel and slander over several offensive tweets, as well as for allegedly using her image to sell more music. In July 2015, Future slammed Ciara and her new fiance Russell Wilson, claiming she arranged for the NFL star to be photographed pushing his son in a stroller.
"'At the end of the day, I’m not for the publicity stunts. Leave my son out of the publicity stunts, just leave him out of your relationship," Future said in a radio interview.
Ciara and Russell, who are practicing no-sex-before-marriage due to the Seattle Seahawks quarterback's Christian beliefs, got engaged in March, with the pop star proudly saying the beefcake athlete "brings me joy."
UPDATE: There are claims Ciara's lawsuit doesn't allowed her to call Future's name on television.
