Music star getting married to fiancé 1year after engagement

The 41-year-old singer who proposed to his girlfriend over a year ago, has revealed to People magazine that he popped the question one year ago in the studio

Cee Lo Green is finally set to say "I do" at the altar with his fiancé, Shani James.

"I went and purchased a ring that we had seen together, maybe four or five months or so prior," the 'Forget You' singer told the magazine.

Cee Lo, who was previously married to Christina Johnson for five years and divorced in 2005, is currently working on his new album 'Heart Blanche', which is released November 13.

The singer also revealed to the Association Press on Wednesday, October 21, that he wants to return to the NBC singing competition, after quitting amid drugs and rape allegations last year.

"I've talked very possibly about doing 'The Voice' again," Green said in an AP interview. "So I just kind of put that out there, wishful thinking, kind of willing it. Because I would love to do it again."

He later pleaded no contest to slipping a woman ecstasy in her drink without her knowledge at a restaurant in 2012. The woman alleged the singer then raped her, although he was never been charged because prosecutors said the woman's level of intoxication could not be determined. Cee Lo however, entered a plea deal to the drugs charge in August, 2014.

He then caused a social media uproar and torpedoed his career when he took to Twitter to post controversial Tweets about rape, including the statement that "women who are really raped remember."

The ensuring fallout let to him quitting 'The Voice' and having concerts cancelled.
