The husband of a cop killed during the 9/11 terrorist attack in the US has been reported to have returned his wife’s posthumous, "Woman of the Year" award to Glamour because its is also owned by Caitlyn Jenner.

James Smith described to The New York Post how he had yanked the award dedicated to his wife, Moira, off the shelf in his Long Island home, and FedExed it back to the magazine.

Moira Smith, had died at the age of 38 after rushing into the south tower after the explosion, and was being honored by the magazine a month after her death.

After Caitlyn, 66, was awarded the same award last week, Smith told the magazine’s editor, Cindi Leive, to take the award and shove it.

Speaking on his annoyance, Smith said:

“I was shocked and saddened to learn that Glamour has just named Bruce Jenner ‘Woman of the Year,’

“Was there no woman in America, or the rest of the world, more deserving than this man?” Smith wrote.

“At a time when we have women in the armed forces fighting and dying for our country, heroic doctors fighting deadly diseases, women police and firefighters putting their lives on the line for total strangers, brave women overcoming life threatening diseases . . . the list of possibilities goes on . . . is this the best you could do?”

A spokesman for the magazine told The Post that it received Smith’s letter and that it stands by its honors.

“We were proud to honor his wife . . . in 2001, and we stand by our decision to honor Caitlyn Jenner,” a Glamour spokeswoman said on Saturday.

“Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards recognize women with a variety of backgrounds and experiences.”
