Top Nigerian comedian Basketmouth has received a great honour all the way in the city of Houston, Texas in America.

The Mayor of Houston Annice D. Parker signed a document proclaiming July 17 as Basketmouth Day in Houston.

Basketmouth (Bright Okpocha) was bestowed this honour because of his "commitment on bringing our community together through comedy."

The comedian will be in Houston on July 18, 2015 as part of his world tour. He will be performing at the Ayva Center in Houston as part of his One Man Stand Comedy Concert, Basketmouth Uncensored.

"And yet again.... GOD is partial with me. Step by step, it can only get better" wrote the comedian on Instagram when he shared the picture of the letter of proclaimation.
