''Divorcing my wife remains my biggest failure''

The 'Terminator Genisys' actor told Howard Stern he blames himself for his divorce

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver

Arnold Schwarzenegger, 67, has opened up about his 2011 divorce from ex wife, Maria Shriver; calling it "without any doubt the biggest setback, the biggest failure."

In an interview with the "Howard Stern Show" on Wednesday, June 24, to promote his upcoming film ',' the former Californian governor admitted that he was the one to be blamed for the separation because of his secret affair with the former housekeeper.

"Not only failure, but you feel like, 'I'm to blame for it. It was me that screwed up.' And you can't point the finger at anyone else. So yeah, I was disappointed at it. It's always easy to be smart in hindsight. The thing was how do you make the best of that situation?" said the former bodybuilder.

Speaking about making good out of a bad situation, Schwarzenegger revealed he's been able to maintain good relationship with four of his children with Maria. "It has worked out really so well with the help of Maria," he admitted.

He also said that his family gave him a sweet surprise while promoting the latest installment of the "Terminator" film franchise in Germany.

"I walk into the room and I see the room full of balloons...It was from all four kids and from my wife. There was a note 'You're the greatest dad, the greatest man, we love you dad.' Each one sent a card. Each one sent a gift. That's the relationship we have,'' he explained.
