The "Hello" star explained exactly what happened during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show which will air later today, February 18, and admitted that she actually found the drama totally overwhelming.

According to her waking up to find out everyone was still talking about it left her so embarrassed.

"Sound check was great. Went really well," Adele told DeGeneres. "I was really excited, and then during the changeover, the microphones fell onto the piano strings which is what the guitar noise was," she explained.
The award winning singer further explained she realized at once what the issue was but didn't turn around to fish out the microphone. "I froze," she said, adding that the fact that her singing sounded slightly out of tune didn't bother her.
According to her waking up to find out everyone was still talking about it left her so embarrassed even though she had explained in an earlier tweet what happened.
"I cried pretty much all day," she further revealed. "I kept like spontaneously bursting into tears yesterday. But it was alright. I was fine."
