Selena Gomez admitted in hospital after emotional breakdown

Selena Gomez is presently being hospitalised following an emotional breakdown.

PEOPLE reports that the award-winning singer had been admitted to the hospital after suffering from low white blood cells, which is related to patients with Kidney transplants.

However, while in the hospital, Selena broke down and is now being treated for an emotional breakdown.

“She has had a tough few weeks and the panic attack in the hospital was the tipping point,” a source tells PEOPLE.

“She realized she needed to seek additional help for her ongoing emotional issues. She’s surrounded by close family and has a lot of support. She’s doing better now and is seeking treatment on the East Coast," the source also told PEOPLE. According to PEOPLE, Selena is presently dialectical behavior therapy, a therapy method designed to help try to identify, and then change, negative thinking and behavioral patterns.

It would be recalled that back in 2017, Selena Gomez had a successful kidney transplant which was donated by her best friend.

Selena Gomez undergoes kidney transplant

Selena Gomez back in September 2017 had a kidney transplant over her lupus condition, with the kidney donated to her by her best friend. The singer and actress shared the information via her Instagram page on Thursday, September 14. Posting a picture of herself and her best friend, Francia Raisa on hospital beds with the caption:

"I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and the incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery.

“And finally, there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa...She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much, sis. Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made.’’

Lupus is an autoimmune disease in which the human immune system becomes hyperactive and attacks healthy tissues and systems such as the kidneys and blood cells. Since Gomez discovered her condition in 2015, she has been pretty upfront about the impact the autoimmune disease has had on her health, career, and quality of life.
