A spoken word poet, Prestige Ifeanyi Bernard, has won the Slam Poetry competition at the 10 edition of Be Blessed (#BB 10).

Prestige and his co-contestants left the audience thrilled at the poetry & sundry talent event, held at the University of Ibadan.

He was eventually named winner, confirming his superiority after having won the qualifying, written stage with a different set of judges.

Prestige's organization, 'The Truth', promotes poetry in schools and inculcates values and civic consciousness in young minds.

He has graced poetry platforms like ' chill and relax', Metro Fm Open Mic, Bobogiri Open mic and performs at seminars, conferences, radio stations and churches. He loves poetry and spoken word art with passion.

Speaking with , the founder and CEO of EGC, organizers of the Be Blessed Franchise, Olumide Bisiriyu, said the purpose of the event is to positively engage the youth, and encourage them to write and be able to perform what they wrote.

"In Be Blessed, we created a platform where both established and upcoming talents can mingle/perform so they could learn from and motivate one another," Bisiriyu said.

"We want to engage youths so they could make positive use of their talents.

Renowned spoken word artist, DONNA the poet, also performed.

The next edition of Be Blessed event, tagged BB11, will hold on the 25th July 2015.
