Twelve Professors are in a succession battle as the tenure of the incumbent Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan (UI), Professor Isaac Folorunso Adewole, winds down.
Adewole's 5-year tenure is expected to end in November and eleven dons, currently working at UI, and one other candidate are looking to succeed him.
The UI professors are; Professors O.O Layiwola (Institute of African Studies), O.O Akinyinka (Pediatrics), F.O Egbokhare (Linguistics and African Languages), Arinola, O. Sanya (Physiotherapy), B.O Fagbemi (Veterinary Microbiology and Parasitology), L. Popoola (Forest Resources Management), A.I Olayinka (Geology), A.I Oluleye (Industrial and Production Engineering), O.D Olaleye (Virology), A.E Falaye (Aquaculture and Fisheries Management) and A.A. Agbaje (Political Science).
Professor A. Adedeji is the 12 candidate and the only one not from the institution.
