UNILAG to admit 8000 out of 32,000 applicants

The former Vice Chancellor also said applicants must score 40% in UNILAG's Post UTME before they could be considered for admission.

Bello made this known at a forum on Friday, November 10 with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN in Lagos.

Bello said 32,000 applicants to the institution scored 200 and above in their Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination but only 8000 of them will be admitted.

He, however, said applicants must score nothing less than 40% percent in the University's post UTME screening before they could be considered for admission.

“We know what goes on in our public examinations. That is why we insist on candidates undertaking our post UTME and scoring at least 40 per cent''.

Bello whose tenure expired on Saturday, November 11 as the Vice Chancellor of the University said the aim is to promote excellence.
