A 15-year-old of Maverick College, Ibadan, Oyo State, Miss Fabelurin Fehintoluwa, has won a N1 million education grant after coming tops in the UBA Foundation national essay competition.
15-year-old wins N1m education grant in essay competition
Miss Fabelurin Fehintoluwa's essay won her a N1million education grant in the UBA Foundation national essay competition.
Fehintoluwa's entry was adjudged best out of about 2000 entries from secondary school students across the country.
The young essayist received her prize, a N1 million educational grant that would be activated when she secures admissions into a university, at the award ceremony held at the UBA House, Marina, Lagos.
A 16-year-old, Obi Daniel Chukwudum of St. Thomas Secondary School, Kano, came second while 15-year old Sunday Kenneth Ikemsinachi of Dority International Secondary School, Aba, Abia State, was third.
Both runners up received N750,000 and N500,000 education grants respectively,
All twelve finalists were given brand new laptops as consolation prizes.
The Deputy Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of UBA Africa, said the company is proud of the competition because it stimulates intellectual completion and young Africans.
