Daniel recently came out as gay on Instagram.

He wrote: ''Hello everyone, just want to let you know that I've just come out as gay on my Instagram which means this information is public.

You probably may have suspected all along but my sexuality is something I have been struggling with from childhood. (way before I came to this country)...certainly has been the reason I have been isolating myself from family/church. Finally decided to accept who I am and would appreciate some level of sensitivity as well as supportive comments that are non-judgemental. No calls for now pls. Thanks. Love. Dan''.

He has however deleted the post from his Instagram account and later did a video to appreciate those who called and congratulated him for supporting him.

However, Daniel is not the first Nigerian to become an SUG president in a foreign University.
