Political thuggery has become a re-occurring decimal in Nigerian politics
The Commandant, Ekiti State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Shem Obafaiye, made the call during a visit to the management of the Ekiti State University (EKSU).
Calling on the support of the institution in crime prevention in the state, Mr. Shem noted that politicians might exploit the approaching elections to lure students into political thuggery and electoral violence.
The commandant it was therefore important to advise EKSU students against such.
Responding, EKSU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oladipo Aina, assured of the university's support.
Prof. Aina also revealed that the institution are undergoing ethical and behavioural re-orientation.
Political thuggery and electoral violence have been a recurring decimal in Nigerian politics over the years.
