In a statement signed by Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, the Senior Special Assistant to the Chairman Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC), the party said the alleged comments show that Wike has a secret agenda against the institutions.
“Any doubts about Wike’s wickedness became erased when he two days ago informed the House Committee on Education through a representative that the Ministry of Education under his watch made no provision for the salary arrears of striking polytechnic and college of education lecturers in the 2014 Budget of the Ministry.”
Wike’s representative had allegedly told the House Committee on Education that no provision was made for the payment of salary arrears of the striking lecturers in the Federal Ministry of Education's 2014 budget.
This is coming only four days after Nigerian Polytechnic students under the umbrella of the National Association of Polytechnic Student (NAPS) protested in Abuja and called for an end to the stand-off between the Federal Government Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP).
