How 29-yr-old Nigerian became senior lecturer in UK university

Dasuki speaks with Pulse on his academic progression from Nigeria to Cyprus and finally to England where he now works as a senior lecturer.

29-year-old Dasuki succinctly announced his promotion and resumption to work as a senior lecturer in the University on Twitter on Monday, September 25 and Nigerians won't stop to celebrate the young academic.

Dasuki speaks with Pulse on his academic progression from Nigeria to Cyprus and finally to England where he now works as a senior lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.

Here's the academic journey of Salihu Dasuki from a Nigerian Nursery school to an International University.

Salihu Dasuki had his primary school education in Lagos at Crescent Nursery and Primary School in Victoria Island. He graduated from the school in 1998.

After his graduation from the elementary school, which is located in the popular 1004 Estate  in VI, Lagos, he proceeded to another prestigious school in Lagos- Kings' College between 1998 and 2001.

He also attended El-Amin International School in Minna. The school is reportedly owned by the former First Lady, Late Mrs Maryam Babagida.

After his secondary education in Nigeria, he moved to Cyprus where he had first class in Computer Science at the Eastern Mediterranean University.

After his first degree, he moved to England for his Masters and PhD at Brunel University and finished his program in 2012.

At the age of 24, he started serving as an assistant professor of Information Systems at American University of Nigeria, Yola.

In 2017, he went to Harvard University for a short program on Information Technology and Development.

Salihu Ibrahim is a mentor to a lot of youths and his story has been that of hope and encouragement to millions of Nigerian students that they can touch touch the sky with commitment and determination.
