OAU in mourning as Professor of Medicine slumps, dies in office

The Obafemi Awolowo University community has been thrown into mourning as one of its professors was discovered dead in his office.

The Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, has been thrown into a state of mourning following the death of a professor of Medicine in the institution, Professor Solomon Ogunniyi, reports Vanguard.

It was gathered that the 60-year-old former provost of the College of Health Sciences in the school, slumped and died in his office.

His lifeless body was discovered in his office still on his chair, on Thursday, November 5, after he had not exited his office during closing time.

Though details of his death is still yet to be made public, there are suspicions he could have suffered a heart attack and died in the process and an autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of death.
