It seems the Professor in the midst of the sexual harassment scandal has a notorious past.
Two days after the audio clip in which Prof Akindele allegedly demanded five rounds of sex from a yet-to-be-identified student went viral, Lara Owoeye-Wise, a presenter at African Independent Television has said more than five graduates of the university have reached out to her to tell her about their sexual harassment experience with the lecturer.
Owoeye said one of the victims sent a message to her Facebook to report how the embattled OAU lecturer insisted on sleeping with her before she could pass his course twenty years ago.
Here is the Facebook post.
Speaking with Pulse about the sex-for-mark allegation against the lecturer, the media personality said, more than five people have sent messages to her to narrate their sexual harassment experience with the lecturer.
''Somebody sent to my inbox that Prof Akindele has sexually harassed them before. In fact, I have more, many people have reached out to me, making confessions. One of my friends in the US said he broke up with his girlfriend because the lecturer slept with the girl 10 years ago. I have so many of such confessions in my inbox now''.
The media personality also said Prof Akindele's sexual activities with his students caused a break up between two students of the university.
''Some of them saw his pictures when I published it on Facebook and they were surprised that this same man is involved in a sex scandal.
One saw the picture and said, 'so it is this dude, I don't know it is this dude. Over 10 years ago, I was to marry a girl, but this lecturer slept with her because he wanted to give her grades and that's how we broke up.'
Lara Owoeye-Wise further said "Right now, I have about five people who have come out to tell me about heir sexual harassment experience with Prof Akindele."
Meanwhile, The Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Prof Eyitope Ogunbodede has reacted to the alleged sex-for-mark scandal against the lecturer.
The Vice-Chancellor in a statement he personally signed said the University has begun the process of identifying the characters involved in the viral audio clip
