Nigerian Student AAUA don sets PhD record, wins award at Universiti Malaysia

Dr. Boluwaji Oshodi, a Nigerian postgraduate graduate and AAUA don, has become the first PhD graduate at the Universiti Malaysia.

A Nigerian postgraduate student, Dr. Boluwaji Oshodi, has set a record of being the first Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) graduate at the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).

Oshodi, who lectures at the the Department of Linguistics and Languages, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba (AAUA) Akoko, Ondo State, also won the inaugural award for the best postgraduate presentation of UNIMAS's  Centre for Language Studies (CLS).

In a congratulatory message, the UNIMAS Deputy Dean, Postgraduate and Research, Florence Gillian Kayad, called Oshodi an exemplary student.

“I also wish to commend you for being a worthy ambassador, an outstanding and exemplary student who laid a solid foundation for current and prospective postgraduate students at the Centre,” Kayad said, according to a report published on the AAUA website.

The AAUA Vice Chancellor, Prof. Femi Mimiko, also congratulated Dr. Oshodi.
