30-yr-olds, part-time students eligible for exemption, exclusion certificate — NYSC

Nigerians who are over 30 years old when they graduate from the university are eligible for exemption certificates, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said.

Nigerians who are over 30 years old when they graduate from the university are eligible for exemption certificates, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said.

The Director, Press and Public Relations of the NYSC, Bose Aderibigbe, said this while speaking in Abuja on Tuesday at the unveiling of new certificates of national service.

Aderibigbe also stated revealed that students of non-regular institutions will be issued exclusion certificates.

"Those who qualify for the certificate of exemption are graduates who are above 30 years at the time of graduation or recipients of the National Presidential Honours Award," she said.

“Persons who have joined the Armed Forces, Police, National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and the Department of State Security (DSS) are also issued certificates of exemption."

“Letters of exclusion are issued to part-time and distance learning students and those who have not been able to pass through the normal university or polytechnic system.”

Student Pulse gathered that the new certificates of national service has advanced security features and the passports of corps members.
