Past leaders of students’ union governments in Nasarawa state have supported the governorship ambition of former Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku, with the sum of N1.5 million.
Ex-student Presidents donate N1.5 to Maku's guber ambition
Former Minister of Information and governorship candidate in Nasarawa, Labaran Maku, has received a donation of N1.5 million from ex-student leaders in the state.
The ex-Presidents, made the donation under the National Association of Nigerian Past Students Union Presidents, Nasarawa State chapter, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
According to the chapter President, Newman Solomon, who made the disclosure during a visit to the ex-Minister at Wakama, Akun Development Area of Nasarawa, the donation was made to support Maku's campaign.
"We will support you with N1.5 million to enable you to tackle some financial challenges in the course of your campaign," Solomon said.
"We are here to facilitate and celebrate with you and your family on the occasion of the New Year and to assure you of our continued support to enable you to realise your ambition.
“We are past students’ union leaders.
He urged the governorship hopeful not to relent in his bid.
Maku, who received the team in person, said he intends to pursue his ambition to actualisation.
"There is no going back in my gubernatorial ambition, it is still on course and intact and there is no amount of intimidation from any group that would stop me from realising my ambition," Maku said.
He thanked them for their kind gesture, promising to execute people oriented projects if elected.
