NANS senate president revealed that Gbadegbo was impeached on the grounds of incompetency under Section 49(1) of the constitution which states: “The president can be impeached on the grounds of incompetence or as therefore by his attitude or action which can be classified/regarded as misconduct”. The body accused Gbadebo of inability to serve the primary purpose of NANS to protect the general interest of all Nigerian students both at home and in Diaspora, “before the institutions, government, parastatals, stakeholders and even other countries policies as well as aligning with a particular party and indulging in “Ghana-must-Go protest”.
NANS Impeaches President
Just as news of the sacking of the minister of education among other ministers was announced, news also circulated that the president of the National Association of Nigerian Students; Yinka Gbadebo has been impeached and replaced with Jubril Ahmad, the vice-president.
