Reports say Idowu was found unresponsive with bruises and a broken skull on Sunday on a street in the GRA area of the town.

The deceased, reportedly an Ogun State indigene, was of the NYSC 2014 Batch ‘B’ set.

She was last seen at the popular shopping mall, Shoprite, located along Fate Road, before her roommate and neighbours found her corpse.

It is being speculated that she was given a free ride from the Shopping Mall.

But the Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Ajayi Okasanmi, told Vanguard that the police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.

“As far as we are concerned, it was a reported case of ‘found dead’ with a broken skull and bruises," he said.

"For now, I cannot tell you whether it was a case of rape, abduction or kidnapping.

“We are still investigating.

"We cannot conclusively say it is a case of abduction or ritual killing because no part of the body was missing."

“It could be a case of a hit-and-run by a careless driver or an outright accident."

The state NYSC Public Relations Officer, Oladipo Morakinyo, said Idowu's family had been contacted.

He also said the cause of her death is not yet known.

“It is only the medical expert that can diagnose what actually killed her and this is beyond the scope of our scheme," he said.

“The most important thing is that a corps member died and NYSC has done the necessary thing that we are expected to do."

Idowu was until her death serving at Radio Kwara, Ilorin.
