One hundred and fifty new students will be awarded scholarships and bursaries worth up to N1m each in the 2015 Scholars Scholarship programme of the Michael and Cecilia Ibru University (MCIU).

Announcing the awards on Monday, the Registrar of the university, Andrew Okwudei, said prospective students wishing to study in its faculties of Management and Social Sciences and Natural and Applied Sciences for the 2015 / 2016 academic session are eligible.

"There are 150 scholarships and bursaries available, and every successful applicant can receive up to N1m for his or her tuition at MCIU for the duration of the study,” Okwudei said in a statement.

“Students will be selected on the basis of a post-UTME, personal statement and interview."

The Registrar said applicants must be at least 16 years of age and must have obtained, in no more than two sittings, five credit “O” level passes, including at least a credit in English Language, Mathematics and a science subject.
