Ambode promises to empower youths with vocational education

Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has said his administration will support youths in their bid to succeed by promoting and encouraging the acquisition of technical and vocational education.

Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has said his administration will support youths in their bid to succeed through vocation education.

The Governor made the promise at the 3rd Annual Lagos State Enterprise Day, organized by the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB).

Ambode, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat Adebule, said the government is ready to provide the needed training.

"Our administration is committed to promoting and encouraging the acquisition of technical and vocational education as major instruments for youth empowerment, job and wealth creation," he said.

"The newly-created Ministry of Employment and Wealth Creation is in fulfilment of our electoral promise to make life better for Lagosians.

He urged youths in the state to embrace technical and vocational education in order to become quality entrepreneurs and compete with global businesses.
