21-yr old in jail for killing 'cultist' with broken bottle in bar fight

Ridwan Lukuman, a suspected cultist, has been arraigned for allegedly killing another suspected cultists in a bar fight.

A suspected cultist, Ridwan Lukuman, has been remanded at the Ikoyi Prisons after his arraignment for allegedly stabbing one Kazeem Taiwo to death in a bar.

Lukuman, alleged to belong to White Island cult, was arraigned before an Ebute Metta Chief Magistrate, charged with conspiracy, murder and belonging to a cult.

The court heard that the accused committed the offences at Alade Ogun, Ilogbo Eremi on Lagos Island on the 25th of February 2015.

The prosecutor, Richard Odigie, said the accused and his victim, also alleged to be a cultist, were drinking at a bar when an argument ensued between them.

He said the argument degenerated into a fight during which Lukuman stabbed his victim to death with a broken bottle.

Odigie said the offences contravened Sections 42(a), 221 and 231 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The court did not hear the accused’s plea.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. O.I. Adelaja, ordered the accused to be remanded at the Ikoyi Prisons and adjourned the case to the 22nd of May.
