A student of the University of Jos (UNIJOS) has lost his life in a cultist attack that occurred at a hostel over the weekend.

The victim, identified only as Nanfwan, is believed to be a cultist and a Diploma student at the UNIJOS' Centre for Continuing Education.

According to eyewitness accounts published by The Guardian, members of a rival cult group attacked Nanfwan in his house located at Gondola, near Angwan Rukuba in Jos North LGA.

They shot him four times, killing him instantly.

They then dismembered him with knives and fled the scene.

Student Pulse gathered that Nanfwan is the only son of an All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial aspirant.

His corpse was taken to the Bingham University Teaching Hospital (BUTH), morgue before his relations removed it for burial on Saturday.

It will be recalled that the Police in the state recently arrested 16 students for alleged involvement in cultism.

Some student leaders had condemned the action, alleging that the students were arrested unjustly.
