Parents, teachers protest the terrible condition of College
The parents and teachers took to the street to protest the condition of the school.
One of the demands of the protesters was that the Federal Government should remove the principal of the school, Mr. Chuks Onwusiri, due to the fact that he is uncaring about the plight of the students and teachers of the school.
Punch reports that it was only the timely intervention of the police that saved the situation as the protest was fast turning into an all-out crisis.
The chairman of the PTA, who spoke on behalf of the aggrieved members of the school, explained that the situation of the school was truly terrible.
He said, ” The situation at the Federal Science and Technical College, Ilesa is very bad. There is no electricity supply, students eat dinner in the dark. They go outside the school to fetch water.
“The students are paying for services not rendered. Parents paid for blazers and the items were not supplied. We are calling for the removal of the principal. The school was not in this sorry state when the former principal was around.”
Another teacher, who requested anonymity worried that with the situation of the school clinic, students are more likely to even catch more diseases than they are to get better.
