Provost to screen new students to avoid admitting alleged cultists
"The management of this institution has zero tolerance for all forms of social vices particularly cultism and their activities.
The provost said this on Wednesday while playing host to officials of the Senior Staff Union of Colleges of Education of Nigeria, Akwanga Chapter.
"This decision is necessitated by the alarming rate of the activities of different cult groups in other tertiary institutions in the country.
"We are poised to repositioning this college to an enviable height and mold the students to a better academic and moral standard,’’ she said.
Umaru promised to renovate all the hostels and lecture halls and equip them with modern facilities that would provide a conducive environment for teaching and learning.
The provost called on the students to abide by all the rules and regulations guiding their conducts in the school to justify their parents and government’s investment on them.
She commended the state government for building new hostels, providing other facilities and appealed to it to do more.
Earlier, the leader of the Union, Mr William Musa, had commended the provost for improving the welfare of the staff and students as well as renovating old buildings and building new ones.
He pledged the union’s cooperation to the college management.
