A Lagos student accused of stealing an Infinix camera phone valued at N16,000 has been granted bail in the sum of N20,000 by a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court.
Yusuf Ishola was arraigned on Friday before Chief Magistrate, Mrs. A.A. Famobiwo on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Clement Okuoimose, said the accused committed the offence on the 25th of August at Oladipo Labinjo Crescent in Surulere.
Okuoimose said Ishola and some accomplices still at large stole an Infinix camera phone belonging to one Ayodeji Olorogun.
“Olorogun reported the matter to the accused person’s mother, who helped to search for it," Okuoimose said.
“We also tracked the accused person’s whereabouts, but by the time we got him, the phone was already broken."
The Prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 285(5) and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
In her ruling, after the accused pleaded not-guilty, Famobiwo granted him bail in the sum of N20,000 with a gainfully employed surety with a verifiable address.
She adjourned the case to the 18th of September for mention.
