The Lagos State Government on Wednesday disbursed N514 million for local scholarship and bursary to students of the state studying in various tertiary institutions across the country.
Mrs Olabisi Ariyo, Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Education, made the presentation of Automated Teller Machine (ATM) Verve cards to the 2014/2015 beneficiaries at Government College, Ipaja road, Lagos.
Ariyo said the initiative of local scholarship and bursary were efforts aimed at improving the standard of education in Lagos as well as provide opportunities for citizenry irrespective of their socio-economic status.
