A 34-year-old teacher at Toowoomba State High, Queensland, Australia, has been suspended for sending inappropriate messages to a 15-year-old student on Snapchat.
The Toowoomba Chronicle reports that the unnamed teacher faces two charges of indecent treatment of a child under 16.
He was subsequently suspended by the school.
Confirming the suspension, Department of Education and Training spokesman, said the teacher's offence is serious.
"The department has immediately suspended a Toowoomba State High School staff member who is being investigated for potentially serious offences, the spokesperson said.
"The department is unable to provide further information at this time."
