Samuel spoke while distributing the laptops at a students’ summit organised by the Bureau of Students Affairs with the theme "The Need For Free education In Nigeria.”
"Every student must see this era as an era of capacity building because Okorocha has provided the enabling environment for any student to excel," Samuel said.
The Special Adviser urged the students to take the opportunity to develop themselves with ICT knowledge, adding that the government intends to establish a training centre where various skills will be taught."
gathered that the beneficiaries were drawn from 2 polytechnics and two universities; the Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri; the Imo Polytechnic, Umuagwo; Federal University of Technology (FUTO), Owerri and Federal Polytechnic, Nekede.
The President, National Union of Imo State Students, Miss Chidera Apuwara, lauded the state's free education policy.
“Majority of our students who will have become either doctors or lawyers have ended up becoming motor mechanics due to financial constraints," Apuwara said.

Okorocha, at a time when most governors say it is impractical to implement free education, has successfully provided same in Imo State.
