Rumours about the murder of the Principal of Government College, Katsina, Mallam Isyaku Bello, who released Buhari's results last week, are false according to the Police in the state.
Police in Katsina has denied the reported death of the Principal of Government College, Katsina, Mallam Isyaku Bello, Premium Times reports.
Bello, who released the Cambridge West African School Certificate (WASC) result of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari last Thursday, was reported dead by some online media at the weekend.
The death rumours came only a day after a The Nation report stated that “Some forces were unhappy with the issuance of results to Gen. Buhari and they have been threatening the principal."
The Katsina Police Command Public Relations Officer, Aminu Sadiq, told journalists in Katsina that the principal is alive and well.
“We are surprised to read the story online that the principal had been killed by unknown gunmen," Sadiq said.
“The command wish to state that the principal in question is currently organising a naming ceremony for a new born baby that came into his family.”
Sadiq said top officials of the state's Ministry of Education have confirmed the principal's health.
