Nigerian Overseas Students Hail Jonathan For Human Capital Dev

President Goodluck Jonathan has been commended by Nigerian students studying in Romania for his giant strides in Human Capital Development.

Nigerian students studying in Romania have applauded President Goodluck Jonathan's government for its 'giant strides' in human capital development and the engagement of youths in the educational sector.

The commendation is coming from Nigerian students studying in Romania under the Nigerian Seafarers Development Programme (NSDP).

In a press statement issued by the president of the NSDP, Cadet  Wilson Clinton, the students lauded the Federal Government for sending "over 2500 Nigerian youths" from Nigeria's SIX geo-political zone to "study professional maritime courses in Romania, United Kingdom, Philippines, India and Egypt respectively."

"Without bias and sentiments, therefore, we hereby declare that the federal Government and the Akpobuloukaemi led NIMASA is sailing in the right direction," Clinton said.

According to him, the government's gesture is a sign of it's foresight and political will to move the nation forward.

"With continuation of this scheme and other related programmes aimed at empowerment and human capacity building, we are gradually and surely reclaiming our position as one the best economies in the world! It is just a matter of time and persistence in our collective efforts."

Clinton also revealed that the students are doing well in their studies.

"The Nigerian cadets in Romania are presently topping the University academics table in terms of performance and academic excellence," the student leader said.

He said the students will "do Nigeria and Nigerians proud" in "line with Mr. President Speech on October 1st 2014, marking Nigerian 54th Independence Anniversary celebration."

According to information on its official website, NSDP is a strategic intervention designed to address the short to medium term manpower requirements of the maritime sector.
