According to a Sun Newsreport, Vivian Iwuji, who gave birth to a baby boy on August 2, 2014 decided to sell the baby with the assistance of her boyfriend, Obinna Ugochukwu.

"She told us that the baby was dead."
The father said then reported the case to the police.
“It was there that my own daughter with her boyfriend confessed that they sold the baby boy in the sum of N620,000 to one Ehegalara Edwin,” Ikwuji added.
The police handed the rescued baby to Ikwuji on August 11, 2014 at the Imo State Police Headquarters, Owerri.
