The new Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, is a first class graduate of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN).
Kachikwu, a doctor of Law who took over from Joseph Dawha this week, was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the new Chief Executive of the corporation.
His student days at both UNN and the Nigerian Law School saw him emerge the best graduand with first class degree in Law and multiple awards.
The new NNPC boss then repeated the feat at the prestigious Harvard Law School USA, where he earned his Master's and Doctorate Degree, with distinctions again.
While at Harvard, Kachikwu set a record with a Ph.D/SJD Harvard Distinction, specialising in Petroleum and Investment Law Strategies after completing his doctoral thesis in a record time.
He has taught in Nigeria, at Harvard and various Institutions worldwide, published several law books, including the bestselling 'Nigerian Foreign Investment Law and Policy' and numerous articles in various Journals.
Kachikwu assumed duty on Tuesday after a brief handover ceremony held at the NNPC Towers, Abuja.
He was until his appointment the Executive Vice Chairman and General Counsel of Exxon Mobil (Africa).
