This US varsity is giving Nigerian students direct admission

Dayton University representatives say the school wants Nigerian students because they are academically brilliant and strong.

The institution which believes Nigerian students are academically brilliant said it's ready to attract them to the institution through incentives including scholarships.

According to Guardian, the Dayton University Management after visiting Nigeria to evaluate the curriculum at both university and secondary level said that Nigerian students would be exempted from additional entrance examinations such as SAT, GRE, GMAT or British A level system.

The management team also added that students will be given partial merit scholarships if they have good grades.

While speaking at a media briefing at Radisson Blu Hotel, Lagos, the institution's Regional Director, West Africa, Selma Toohey said  they are trying to stripe back all the hurdles for students in the country so that they could come to the University of Dayton, be successful and build a great future, Guardian reports.

“Undergraduates students with a distinction average will automatically qualify for a $10, 000 academic scholarship per annum. Students who are seeking postgraduate admission with a 2:1 or first class will be awarded a $5, 000 academic scholarship”, Toohey said.

Confirming Toohey, Recruitment Director, Africa, EU and Russia, Michael Lawson said Dayton University has ''scholarship available, up to $20, 000, not just for the first year, but all four years of study for students from Nigeria”

Recall that in  January 2018, the French embassy announced its readiness to admit Nigerian students in its universities due to the increase in the English Language taught courses in French Universities.

Also in February 2018, Pulse reported that the Dutch universities are willing to offer Nigerian students affordable education.
