3 Black Axe 'cultists' nabbed while plotting terror... guns, charms, cutlasses recovered

Police in Ogun state say they have arrested three suspected leaders of the Black Axe secret cult operating in the in Ijako, Ado Odo/Ota LGA.

The suspects are Bamidele Adejare, Sodiq Gbadamosi and Olamilekan Omoola.

Spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, Muyiwa Adejobi, officers of the Sango/Ota Police Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Muyideen Adisa, raided the cultists' hideout, an uncompleted building.

He said weapons, including locally made guns, cutlasses and charms were recovered from the suspected cultists who have also confessed to several crimes.

“The suspected cultists have confessed to many crimes, including participating in cult clashes that led to the death of many people in the Ota area," he said.

Adejobi said the suspects were plotting to unleash terror at the time they were arrested.
