BUK set to launch digital radio and TV stations
BUK will become the second university in Nigeria to operate a campus radio and a TV station in Nigeria after UNILAG.
Bello made the announcement 34th convocation of the university.
The VC added that after the University of Lagos, Bayero University will be the next school to operate full-fledged radio and television broadcasting stations in the country.
He explained that the installation of the digital equipment imported from abroad had reached an advanced stage adding that the institution had secured the licence for its radio broadcast.
The Vice Chancellor also said the university's digital television transmission would commence as soon as the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) grants its licence.
UNILAG announced its TV station in January 2018
Recall that on Monday, January 22, 2018, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe announced that the university is set to change the face of television broadcasting through its Mass Communication Department.
Ogundipe said UNILAG TV is ready to go on air, as the institution has got all it takes to float a world-class television station.
