The management of Bayero University, Kano have reportedly expelled 33 students for their alleged involvement in examination malpractices.

The students according to the statement signed by the  Acting Director, Directorate of Examinations and Records (DEAR), Hajiya Amina  Abdullahi, were expelled following the university senate approval of their expulsion at its 365th meeting.

The university said that 12 students were rusticated to repeat a session, while 70 others were issued with a warning, the Nigerian News Agency reports.

“Equally, two students were exonerated from any offence and two cases were deferred for further investigation.

“The candidates were expelled for involvement in examination misconduct in accordance with regulation 19.17(Ai, iii, iv, v, vi, vii x, xii) as the case may be, “ the university said.

NAN also reports that BUK expelled 44, rusticated four and exonerated eight students during the 2016 to 2017 academic session.

BUK to launch digital radio and TV stations

Recall that the Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, KanoProf. Mohammad Yahuza Bello, on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, announced that the institution is planning to launch its community radio and television station.

Bello made the announcement 34th convocation of the university.

The VC added that after the University of Lagos, Bayero University will be the next school to operate full-fledged radio and television broadcasting stations in the country.
