President Muhammadu Buhari

Nigerian president, Mohammadu Buhari, has, in a speech, promised to punish anyone guilty of mismanaging government funds

He made this speech on Wednesday,  during a special convocation ceremony for the installation of the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi, as the ninth Chancellor of the University of Benin, Edo State.

He promised that his administration would not hesitate to bring the full weight of the law on anyone culpable in the mismanagement of government funds provided for the ‎upkeep of the nation’s tertiary institutions.

“The administration will not fold it’s arms and watch unscrupulous elements mismanage these very valuable resources.

He added, “The Federal Ministry of Education is all ears to ensure that wastage and leakages are blocked and perpetrators are brought to book.”‎

Buhari, who was represented by the Minister of Education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu, said that his administration was working hard to change the fortunes of government universities in the country.
