The Akwa Ibom Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Etim Dickson, said the explosives were home-made, NAN reports.
Dickson said the police have commenced investigations but revealed that the the IEDs were probably produced by students of the institution.
Many people have already expressed fears that the bombs may have been planted by members of the Boko Haram sect following the deadly attack at the Federal College of Education (FCE) Kano in which 13 Students, 1 Lecturer and a baby died while 34 other people were injured.
Dickson however urged calm.
“The incident has been properly taken care of, we urge students and employees of the institution to go about their normal businesses,” he said.
Student Pulse gathered that the IEDs were discovered by the campus security squad before the Police Anti-Bomb Squad arrived to defuse them.
