28 students to obtain first class degrees

Prof. Oludele Ojediran says that 28 students will be awarded First Class Degrees at Bellstech's convocation.

The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Oludele Ojediran, made the disclosure during a press briefing on the university’s forthcoming 8th Convocation Ceremony in Ota, Ogun State slated for next week, Punch reports.

Ojediran also disclosed that a total of 122 students would receive first degrees in the Second Class Upper category, while 108 students would receive Second Class Lower degrees. The other 76 students will receive degrees in the Third Class category.

According to Punch, the VC also noted that the institution has introduced new courses and secured approvals for them by the National Universities Commission.

Ojediran added that the institution has set a process of implementing a conversion programme in motion, allowing the holders of the Higher National Diploma, affected by the B.Sc/HND dichotomy, to have the opportunity to upgrade their certificates to B.Sc degree status.

According to Ojediran, the institution has also concluded plans to establish  a Centre for Agricultural Technology to help boost food production in the country.
