Alaran and other students of the students of Independence Hall or residence of university were watching the UEFA Champions League match between Barcelona and Bayern Munich when he slumped.

Student Pulse gathered from a source at the institution that students were too engrossed in the match to notice that Alaran had slumped in the congested area and he was discovered a bit late.

When he was found slumped, the students rushed him to the University Health Services,  known as Jaja Hospital, where nurses on duty requested for the student’s clinic card and matric number instead of instantly attending to him.

Unfortunately, he died before the issue of his identification could be resolved.

Infuriated students, male and female, marched round the school in protest the following morning, blaming the hospital staff for Alaran’s demise.

The protesters, who chanted solidarity songs, hindered traffic and chased students out found in lecture rooms and theatres.

Later they converged in front of the Jaja Hospital protesting the negligence of the hospital staff.

It took the intervention of the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Isaac Folorunsho Adewole, who came to address them.

As at the time of writing this report, calmness has been restored in the school, but the usual boisterous campus is under a subdued atmosphere as students continue to mourn their colleague.

A candle night is slated to hold this evening at the Faculty of Education in his honour.
